the AOL version 9 Internet Properties Window.
Do Not Use Compressed Graphics
AOL tries to optimize the speed of your connection by using
a system that makes graphics smaller via compression software.
This compression system does not work with many of the online
games. Here is how you disable it.
- Click on My AOL.
- Click on Preferences.
- Click on WWW.
- Choose the Web Graphics tab (example below; click to enlarge
the picture).
- Make sure that Use compressed graphics is NOT checked as
the picture shows.
- Now click on the General Tab
- Click Delete Files in your Interent Temporary Files area.
**This is an important last step, as it will force your computer
to download the graphics again, and this time they will
not be compressed and should load and run correctly.

- There are several other FREE web browser alternatives that
are stable, safe to use and provide extra security in comparison
to some of their competition. Please see Firefox or Netscape.
- If you are using Internet Explorer, you can also try going
to the Control Panel, selecting Add/Remove software. Scroll
